OUR UNIVERSITY JOINS ALLIANCE BETWEEN THE MAULE REGION AND TANGIER

THE MOROCCAN DELEGATION VISITED THE TALCA CAMPUS AND ITS MEMBERS EXPRESSED THE INTENTION OF MATERIALIZING IMPORTANT COOPERATION PROJECTS IN VARIOUS FIELDS.

Our University is considered a partner in the cooperation actions between the Maule Region and Tangiers, Morocco, in the context of a decentralized agreement that representatives from both territories signed in Talca.

To materialize this alliance, a delegation including Tangier’s Vice-President, Alamir Mohamed, and the spokesperson of similar position, Mohamed Taoufik, together with the Ambassador of Morocco in Chile, Kenza Al Ghali and officials in charge of Social, Cultural and Sports Affairs and Education and Vocational Training visited the Talca Campus.

The visitors were welcomed by the Director of International Relations, Carolina Torres, the Director of Cultural and Artistic Extension, Marcela Albornoz, and the Director of University Responsibility (RSU) Ivan Coydan.

At the end of a tour around the “Lily Garafulic” Hall, Vice-President Alamir Mohamed explained the desire to materialize collaboration between both regions, "and we are interested in doing a roadmap to realize all the projects that can be included into the academic cooperation agreement ". He added that "there is no progress without this academic cooperation and we are going to work in common with the University of Talca". Ambassador El Ghali added that at the end of 2017 there will be one or two projects in progress, "they could be about education, environment, energy and tourism".

Talking about this alliance, Carolina Torres emphasized the University's commitment to regional development. "We want to collaborate with this agreement, to contribute with our human capital," she said.
