Family Responsible Entity

For the Corporation, a central axis of its actions is the comprehensive development of people.

At the University of Talca, we understand the balance of personal, family, and work life as a concrete expression of the institutional commitment to the well-being of its community. We view this concept not as a set of isolated measures, but as a strategic approach that seeks to harmonize the comprehensive development of individuals with the fulfillment of institutional objectives.

This orientation arises from a deep conviction: people are at the heart of university action. Managing work-life balance is, therefore, an ethical, organizational, and strategic decision, aligned with the institutional values of social responsibility, equity, inclusion, and integrity.

Reconciling these dimensions is a challenge for which UTalca has taken concrete steps to achieve certification as a Family Responsible Entity (FRE). These actions constitute a A robust portfolio of more than 70 staff and 64 student measures, ranging from family support to personal and professional development programs, including:

  • Flexible hours, allowing officials to balance their family responsibilities with their work.
  • Benefits and meeting spaces where families participate within the university, reinforcing the sense of community.
  • Special regulations for students who are mothers or fathers, facilitating their permanence and academic success.
