More than 300 agreements, involving 207 institutions in 34 countries, such as: Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, England, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Paraguay, Peru, Portugal, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United States, and Uruguay.

Our Mobility Programs

This is UTalca's most traditional institutional mobility program. It allows students from all undergraduate programs to take courses or pursue academic activities at foreign universities.

· Duration: one academic semester.

· Requires enrollment as a regular student and support from the school.

· Allows for the recognition of approved courses upon returning to UTalca.

Associated scholarship: Juan Ignacio Molina Scholarship, which finances round-trip airfare, financial assistance for living expenses, and the possibility of accessing UTalca institutional credit.

Be part of the network CINDA (Interuniversity Development Center), comprised of Latin American universities. This program promotes mobility between countries in the region, strengthening academic and cultural cooperation.

· Ideal for those looking for an experience within Latin America.

· Allows you to take courses or complete academic projects at universities in the CINDA network.

Associated scholarship: Regional Integration Scholarship, which includes airfare, financial assistance for the stay, and the possibility of accessing a UTalca institutional loan.

They allow you to study part of your program at a foreign university and obtain a degree from both UTalca and your host university.

· Limited access to courses with a specific double degree agreement.

· Requires academic excellence and mastery of the host country's language.

· Promotes international integration and academic recognition in both institutions.

Associated scholarship: Dual Degree Program Scholarship, which covers travel, financial support, and the possibility of institutional credit.

They include opportunities derived from pinternational projects, academic networks, cooperation funds or specific bilateral agreements.

· Aimed at undergraduate or graduate students.

· In some cases, they include partial or total financing from external funds.

They allow to carry out a semester stay in foreign universities.

· They contribute to financing airfare, travel insurance, food, and accommodation.

· They are held annually and are managed with the support of the International Relations Directorate.

International call involving Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru. It is aimed at undergraduate students, technicians, researchers, and teachers interested in participating in academic exchanges of up to six months.

· Activities: courses, internships, research stays or guest lectures.

· Benefits:

· Round-trip ticket (economy) and national transfer.

· Variable monthly maintenance depending on the destination country.

· Health insurance for emergencies during your stay.

· Exemption from academic costs at the host university.

program of the European Union which promotes academic exchange and international cooperation between universities in Europe and around the world.

Allows students of undergraduate and graduate complete part of their studies or undertake academic internships at a European university partner of UTalca, with guaranteed academic recognition upon return.

· Benefits:

· Monthly financial support for living expenses.

· Round-trip airfare.

· International medical insurance.

· Exemption from tuition and fees at the host university.

Scholarship for pedagogy students at the Linares Campus.

It consists of a non-refundable financial contribution intended to support travel, accommodation, and living expenses during the exchange program, subject to the University's budgetary availability. The number of scholarships and the amount will be established annually by a university rector's resolution.

Requirements:

a. Curriculum progress: Having completed the equivalent of the first 3 semesters of your study plan.

b. Academic performance: Have a general average equal to or higher than 5,0

c. Language proficiency: Demonstrate a B2 level in English or another relevant language when required by the host institution, through a standardized test or institutional assessment. This requirement will not apply to Spanish-speaking institutions. The required language level may only be lower than indicated if permitted by the host university.

Internationalization at Home

Internationalization at Home is an advantage to the world that transforms university life into an enriching experience. Without leaving home, the Utala community thrives through the exchange of ideas, cultures, and knowledge that broadens horizons and awakens new perspectives.

Through activities such as the International Week, within the framework of which a varied agenda of events is carried out activities that contemplating gastronomic events, ccultural, workshops and sports activities, among others, together with programs and collaborations with international institutions, the University cultivates diversity, creativity and connects globally.

COIL Projects

During 2025, nine collaborations were developed through the Integrated Virtual Exchange (IVI) Program, based on the COIL methodology, some of which are still ongoing. These collaborations, along with those carried out in previous years, have allowed UTAL professors from the Faculties of Architecture, Music, and Design; Health Sciences; Legal and Social Sciences; Education; Engineering; and Psychology, as well as teachers from the Basic Training and Languages ​​Program, to join academic peers from 17 international higher education institutions in Latin America and Europe.

Thanks to this, around 800 Utalino students have been able to experience a virtual international experience that enriches their academic and personal development by collaborating with colleagues from foreign universities in a real-life context of cultural and academic exchange.

    Double degree programs with foreign universities

    Undergraduate programs

    The UTalca School of Economics and Business allows students majoring in Business Engineering to study at Haw Hamburg in Germany to earn a degree in International Business.

    The UTalca School of Kinesiology offers the possibility of accessing a degree in Physical Therapy (Physiotherapist) at CES University, in Medellín, Colombia.

    Those studying Agronomy at the University of Talca can pursue a degree in Horticulture Engineering. Since 2001, the University has had this collaborative agreement for fourth-year students, the only one of its kind on Chilean university campuses.

    This agreement allows students from the School of Engineering in Video Game Development and Virtual Reality to access the degree in Video Game Design and Development at the University of Girona, Spain.

    Postgraduate Courses

    The agreement allows students of the Master's Degree in Criminal Law taught by the Center for Criminal Law Studies (Cedep) of the Faculty of Legal Sciences at UTalca to obtain the same degree at Pompeu Fabra University, Spain.

    The PhD in Agricultural Sciences at the University of Talca, in its areas of Agricultural Economics and Natural Resources, has a dual degree agreement with the University of Göttingen, Germany.

    The PhD in Engineering Systems at UTalca has a double degree agreement with the University of Nottingham, England.

    International Cooperation Projects

    We develop a network of international collaborations with universities and research centers on five continents, promoting knowledge exchange, innovation, and joint growth.

    International collaboration initiatives and projects are an expression of the institution's commitment to excellence. These initiatives strengthen research, teaching, innovation, culture, and student outreach.

    Erasmus Projects for Student Mobility in the fields of Agronomy (Institut Agro Rennes-Angers, France) and Pedagogy (Western Norway University Applied Sciences HVL, Norway)

    Finland-Chile Consortium Project “GreenMobECO 2022-2024: Bioeconomy education development” Funded by the Finnish National Education Agency, four Chilean universities (UCM; UDEC; UACH; and UTALCA) and three Finnish universities (USavonia, UKarelia, and UEastern Finland) are participating.

    EULAS Project “United in Knowledge: EU-Latin America Academic Synergies” 2024-2028 Jean Monnete Action funded by the European Union. Led by the Institut Barcelona d'Estudis Internacionals (IBEI), Spain. 22 institutions from 18 different countries participate. Coordinator: Institut Barcelona D Estudis Internacionals, Fundacio Privada (Ibei), Spain.

    Technical tour to Germany It is a project funded by the German Academic Exchange Service – DAAD, where a group of 15 students from the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences visited various universities and experimental stations.

    We strongly promote the dissemination of knowledge globally, highlighting scientific publications in high-impact areas.

    Alliances

    American Academy of Science and Technology

    It is a partnership established since 2005 between the United States Embassy in Chile and the University of Talca, managed by the Directorate of International Relations. It is part of the American Spaces network nationwide, with the participation of seven Chilean universities.

    It seeks to promote dialogue with American experts through free, open-access activities. This is the only American Spaces that focuses on science, technology, innovation, and the environment, in addition to promoting English.

    Its lines of action are: gender, inclusion, public-private partnerships and STEAM.

    German Academic Exchange Service

    It is a non-profit, non-governmental organization representing German universities and student bodies.

    It is the largest international institution that promotes academic exchange and research, providing information on curricula, cooperation, scholarships, languages, culture, and knowledge about Germany.

    It has a global and local presence through language assistants, assistantships, information centers, and regional offices. In Chile, four universities have a DAAD presence on their campuses, with UTalca being the fourth institution to establish a partnership since 1999.

    Institute
    French

    The French Institute of Chile is a cultural and educational institution affiliated with the French Embassy. It promotes the development of the French language, cultural and scientific exchanges, and student mobility between the two countries.  

    For years, there has been a fruitful relationship with the University of Talca, which has supported the mobility of undergraduate and graduate students, as well as academics, between Chile and France. 

    Thanks to a new collaboration agreement signed between both institutions, starting in 2025, the University of Talca will have a French language assistant at the Language Institute, who will support the teaching, dissemination, and promotion of the French language.
