Faculty of Architecture, Music and Design

We are a transdisciplinary Faculty, a leader in the creation and training of professionals who impact society with a humanistic and innovative perspective.

This academic unit reflects the legacy and professional development of the Architecture, Music, and Design programs that were in operation prior to the creation of this Faculty.

The challenge of shaping collaborative action was the driving force behind the creation of this educational space. FAMD focuses on two fundamental ideas under a distinctive seal: its commitment to the development of Chile's Central Valley and Broad Creation, as the unifying element of the three schools that comprise it.

In terms of research, the journal Neuma has been edited and published since 2009, recognized for its contribution and impact on the development of musicological research and teaching.

Architects trained at UTalca are capable of designing architectural solutions tailored to the characteristics of the location, with the environmental context—material and immaterial, local and global—being a key focus in identifying opportunities for their professional work.

The Bachelor of Specialized Musical Performance and Training will be able to work as a director of children's and/or youth orchestras, a professional orchestra performer, a vocal instructor, a music workshop teacher, and a manager of institutional and community music projects.  

Designers receive international training y focused on the development of creative and project-based capabilities with a comprehensive, holistic and Product Design vision. El seal from school It is embodied in creativity, sensitivity and capacity for innovation. 

  • The Master's Degree in Territorial Environmental Management is accredited for 5 years.
  • He or she is qualified to manage the economic, technical, and social aspects of natural environments, subject to operational restrictions and environmental land use planning guidelines.
  • Understands the processes of sustainable environmental production.
