We promote Chemical Sciences and the pursuit of scientific knowledge

Institute of Natural Resources Chemistry

This institute's mission is to cultivate the chemical sciences and pursue scientific knowledge through critical thinking, ethics, and tolerance.

The IQRN's responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate teaching, research, outreach, and technical assistance. This academic unit has state-of-the-art laboratories in Materials Science, Bioactive Compound Synthesis, Natural Products, Physical Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Asymmetric Synthesis and Biomaterials, and Molecular Design.

+ It has eight lines of research.

+ Since 1997, he has been involved in extensive technical assistance work related to water quality studies for various uses.

+ In 2024, a delegation composed of students from the PhD program in Sciences with a focus on Research and Development of Bioactive Products represented Chile at COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan.

“The IQRN promotes the training of highly competent professionals in diverse areas of chemistry—such as chemical biology, catalysis, natural products, physical chemistry, organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, and analytical chemistry. Through a dynamic and collaborative academic environment, research encompasses bioactive products, synthesis, catalysis, nanomaterials, biological systems, and environmental chemistry. Thanks to its modern facilities and interdisciplinary networks, the Institute promotes the advancement of scientific knowledge with cutting-edge technologies for the benefit of society.”
