The University of Talca, in compliance with the provisions of Law No. 19.628 on the Protection of Private Life, and considering the guiding principles and data protection standards contained in the Recommendations on the protection of personal data established
by the Council for Transparency to the State Administration bodies, informs you that the data that the University collects, in its various processes to carry out its institutional work, will be used solely for the following purposes:
In the Dissemination, Admission, Application, and Enrollment Processes, where the personal data of applicants, sponsors, and guarantors is collected. This is done not only to formalize student admission to the various programs offered by the University, but also to assist in the application process for benefits and assistance provided by the system.
In the processing of personal data for statistical purposes, registration, academic uses, academic alerts, verification of requirements for granting benefits, compliance with academic regulations, collection of payments for services provided and other obligations contracted by the Student, participation in institutional accreditation processes and academic programs, compliance with requirements of educational authorities, offering services and/or programs for continuing education that may be of interest to the Student and, in general, providing continuous improvement of the quality in the provision of services provided by the University.
The data collected may be transferred to third parties, subject to compliance with the requirements established in Law No. 19.628 and the aforementioned Recommendations. The institutions that have access to the data collected from data subjects are the following:
The University must share your personal data with legal entities if required by law or court order.
The University may share your personal data with external educational institutions if the student applies to an external academic program or participates in any of the student mobility options (exchange, research stay, programs leading to a double degree, etc.).
The University stores personal data for as long as required by law or as necessary to provide educational services.
The University will store all the data necessary to issue academic and administrative certificates requested by alumni. It may also store your data for statistical or historical purposes.
As the data subject of the personal data collected, and in accordance with the provisions of Article 12 of Law No. 19.628, you are hereby informed that you may exercise your rights of access, rectification or modification, cancellation or deletion, and blocking, independently and free of charge, with respect to such data before the University.
