Through thirteen Community Engagement Programs, our University establishes a representative sample of the various partnership mechanisms and the trajectory it has on each of its campuses.



Artistic cultural extension

It focuses on the dissemination of the arts, the visibility of institutional heritage in painting and sculpture, the recovery of regional cultural identity, education, and the promotion of artistic and literary creation.

It has a cultural outreach center in Curicó and Santiago, as well as an exhibition hall on the Colchagua and Linares Campuses. This includes the Sculpture Park (40 large-format works), the NUGA room (270 works from the Pérez-Stephens collection, 550 textiles from the Shaw-Zegers collection, and 2.200 works of visual art), the Lily Garafulic space (67 works), and the Pequeño Formato gallery (52 works), in addition to iconic initiatives such as the Christmas Train, the School of Artistic Heritage Guides, and Family Saturdays, among others.

Conservatory of music and musical ensembles

It has a cultural outreach center in Curicó and Santiago, as well as an exhibition hall on the Colchagua Campus and the Linares Campus.

A basic-level music study center that provides training for girls, boys, and young people with artistic and musical talent. It also features a youth orchestra and an instrumental band. Additionally, the Music School offers a program offering to educate and train audiences through its musical elements (university choir, symphony orchestra, sinfonietta, brass ensemble, and percussion ensemble).

This module of the Fundamental Training Program provides students with interventions with community partners, applying cross-disciplinary and cross-cutting knowledge to resolve territorial issues.

Clinical fields and UTalca Health

It brings together the clinical fields and clinics of kinesiology, speech therapy, and dentistry. Its objective is to strengthen training, clinical practice, and research in the area of medical and health sciences, promoting the well-being of communities.

It contributes to the growth of the wine industry by developing technological and productive management tools for sustainable business performance. It includes the Vine and Wine Technology Center, the Pome Center, the Irrigation and Agroclimatology Research and Transfer Center, and the ThinkAgro Extension Center, among other initiatives.

A methodology applied to strengthen the relevance of technical training in the Colchagua Campus programs, based on the complementarity of learning in both an academic and work environment. This program also includes the University Grape Harvest Festival.

Educational experiences for younger generations

Outreach activities and educational experiences for girls, boys, and young people, seeking to facilitate access to knowledge, foster interest in scientific and technological vocations, the arts, and culture, and promote physical and mental health and environmental protection.

These initiatives include a science and technology fair, math olympics, a "live the biology experience" workshop, a PAR Explora project, summer schools, robotics workshops, a Virtual High School scientific knowledge competition, a CECREA agreement, a "CLICK: awaken knowledge" space, and creativity and artistic sensitivity workshops, among others.

We contribute to the positioning of the University of Talca as a promoter of high-quality content in the fields of science, technology, education, and culture, proactively in the editorial process and its national and international distribution.

We are the first HD channel in the Maule Region, which began broadcasting on October 9, 2013. This media outlet is an alternative to traditional television, and its more than 30 self-produced programs stand out for their educational, cultural, scientific, and technological content, among others.

For nearly five decades, the University of Talca's radio stations have contributed to the informational, cultural, and musical development of the Maule region. It has four broadcast frequencies: three FM: 102.1 FM (Talca), 93.7 FM (Parral), and 96.1 FM (Curicó), and one AM: 1.210 (Talca).

Botanical Garden and Arboretum

A 13-hectare natural laboratory located within the Lircay Campus that recreates the plant diversity of the Maule Region, Chile, and the world. It is home to more than 50 species of birds, mammals, fish, and reptiles.
